Christian Louboutin Fight to Protect Their Red Sole Trademark

Imagine creating an upscale fashion line and your competitor imitates one key element that sets your line apart from the rest.  That’s the dilemma with Christian Louboutin vs. YSL in the case of the Red Soles.

Louboutin filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against YSL because they were incorporating red soles on their shoes.

according to International Business Times Louboutin was quoted:

“For YSL and PPR Group, this might just be a legal matter, but that’s not the case for me. On the contrary, to me it is very personal: after all, this is an intrinsic part of my life and my company, which bears my name – and which I have built over the past 20 years and still independently own. This is why I had to be there in person,” Vogue quoted Louboutin saying.

Christian Louboutin was denied the order against YSL.  Which led Louboutin to file an appeal.

If Christian Louboutin are denied the right to trademark the red soles they believe that it will water down their brand.  On the other hand, there are many brands that have knock-offs however, faithful consumers could careless about a knock-off!  They want and are willing to pay for “They Real McCoy”.

On another note, considering the brand YSL has built, yet, they are willing to copy a significant trademark of another company, sounds a bit raunchy.  The time that they’re spending in court could have been spent on developing a exclusive trademark of their own.  Now, that’s what I consider watered down.

Did McDonald’s Get What They Paid For?

Mcdonalds twitter campaign

The Bird

Many of us that use Twitter have seen drama unfold or have been in the center of a fold.  Any-who, McDonald’s launched a campaign on Twitter using the hashtag #McDStories to feature the hard working people that help produce their meals and using fresh produce.  Along with launching the campaign they used a paid for tweeting service which would allow #McDStories to become a trending topic.

Let’s just say McDonald’s got the bird.  Users on Twitter began to tweet their worst McDonald experiences and what ever else they wanted to get off of their chest.

I think this goes to say it’s time McDonald’s take a look at the bigger picture.  We know there are over millions served, but there are millions no longer being served or were served improperly.  One tweet expressed how there were actually only 2% negative tweets out of 72,000 mentions.  When you look at it in that prospective it’s not very many.  However, with a company the size of McDonald’s, a #TwitterFail is in comparison to a celebrity couples’ marriage crumbling on National television.

It’s imperative that McDonald’s use #TwitterFail as constructive criticism and begin to make changes with the quality of food being served.  People are willing, ready to speak out about the way they feel and will use social media platforms to do it.

Professional Reality Check:  In business we will be criticized.  It’s up to us to use the criticism constructively in order to build a stronger business and most importantly, satisfy the customer.

Commercial Pilot Is First-Class On The List

Many were excited to get 2011 over with and if, your job made the “Top 10 most stressful jobs,” list…you have our consolation.

According to CareerCast.com, a Commercial Pilot was at the top of the list.  This is definitely not a surprise considering the significant amount of responsibility in their hands.  However, if you’ve been on a flight lately, one can’t help but notice the assuagement of the pilot’s words.  Under any circumstances, they make you feel welcomed when you board and assure you that they will get you to your destination as promptly and safely as possible.

One key factor can be learned from this: When you love the career path you have taken, you are willing to put your emotional feelings aside.  This gives those you’re responsible for the ability to feel at ease.  This does not mean you’re not being honest, but that you’re willing to see that turbulent conditions flow smoothly.

A few others that made the list were: Public Relations Officer, Corporate Executive, Emergency Medical Technician, just to name a few.  To see detailed list with suggested salaries visit CareerCast.com
